cold brew

the contrast, lighting, color, and DOF all blend together so nice in this one. The blur in the far background and how to colors almost make a gradient...i donno, its just one of those "cool" photos

Great color temperature. I also like the broken pattern created by the hollowed out bean.

Very nice for all the reasons you mentioned. The hollowed bean makes the shot

I like the color as TPB noted,m but I'd like to see this a bit sharper, more detail..I do sharpening in a variety of ways, it depends on the photograph. I always sharpen before I reduce, and I always use the Lab Mode, Lightness Channel when doing this. After I reduce the image. I look at the graph carefully. Most of the time, I never apply USM to the entire image, only the parts of the image that require sharpening. This reduces the amount of noise in the final image. After reducing, I select the areas to be sharpened with a quick mask. Then, I apply Sharpen, Edit, Reduce Sharpen, and adjust the opacity to the image is right. There are other ways to do the same thing. For example, after reducing the photograph, create a new layer, sharpen the background layer only, then in the new layer, erase over the areas you want sharp. Then flatten the image. The eraser tool can be set at different opacities as well, so if you want to go slow, you might set the eraser opacity to 10% and slowly erase the areas you want sharp. It works real well on the edges and avoids sharpening lines.
Sharper detail, IMHO, would really make this image pop visually...could easily be a stock photo image~
